AMBER RENAE 0:33
I’m so excited to share some wisdom to your audience. Thanks for having me.
CRISTINA ROSE 0:37
Yeah. And, you know, I feel like this is something even I struggle with today. You know, many people, you know, struggle with their own personal branding, you know, can you provide some practical tips on how individuals can effectively establish and leverage their personal brand for, you know, their success.
AMBER RENAE 0:53
So in today’s media landscape, we’re actually making purchasing decisions within the first three seconds of finding someone online. So within three seconds, we’ve decided whether we like someone, whether we’re going to trust them, and whether we’re eventually going to buy from them. So what does that tell you about that? Well, it tells you that within three seconds, we haven’t heard what their message is. We don’t know what they’re saying, We haven’t listened to their sales pitch. We don’t know what their offer is, we’ve actually made that purchasing decision based on how they’re presenting themselves. Yeah, so let’s hack this, let’s reverse this. And let’s make sure that we’re winning it that so the way that people communicate is broken into three different areas. 7% is your words what you’re actually saying 38% is the tone of voice and the way that you’re saying it, and 55% is the way that you’re showing up your nonverbal cues. So the way that I teach personal branding is to focus on the 93%. So that’s looking at things like what is your signature style, what colors you’re wearing? What’s your body image? What’s your, what’s your skin tone, these are all things that I learned when I was a celebrity stylist and fashion editor. And in today’s day and age, especially with personal branding, it’s so important to make sure that we’re showing up in a way that people are gonna go up. Wow, who is this person? Yeah, I’m going to stop my role. And I’m going to stop for a few more seconds and listen to what she has to say.
CRISTINA ROSE 2:06
Yeah it’s so true, we really do. It’s the way we show up in the vibes that we give off to, you know, our audience that makes us attracted to them. And it’s like, you only have three seconds to make that first impression. You know, it’s like the elevator speech, but like on steroids.
AMBER RENAE 2:23
And it’s only getting quicker. So now let’s have a think about how we can incorporate that into our brand. So we showing up in a way that is authentic to us. It’s not always about having a glam and an earring going on. It’s about an in a way that speaks to your audience and speaks to your values so that people can go Oh, I like her I’m gonna buy from her.
CRISTINA ROSE 2:41
I feel also to like trending is like being more vulnerable and open and real. You know what I mean? Like I feel like in past years it was all about picture perfect. And now people want like rawness, they want vulnerability. And like you said they don’t want that, you know, always glammed up look, you know, like, let’s like what they want that relatability authenticity
AMBER RENAE 3:02
is going to win the game in socials in 2024 and beyond. So the more that we can really share what’s really going on for us, the more that we’re going to draw people in.
CRISTINA ROSE 3:11
Hey parents, listen up. I’ve got a game changer for you, the addicted child, a parent’s guide to adolescent substance abuse by Richard Capriola. And here’s the kicker, Richard spills, the beans on explaining substance used by today’s adolescents and how drugs work in the teen brain. He’s even included important warning signs for self harm, and eating disorders and how to find the right help for your teen. And the best part is, you’re getting all of these mind blowing insights without breaking the bank. If you’re a parent, or know someone who is this book is going to be your secret weapon, Kindle or paperback, grab your copy on Amazon or go to the addicted child.com The insights in this book are pure gold and spread the word share the lab and let’s empower ourselves with knowledge. You know, entrepreneurs often face you know challenges in building their business, you know, based on your experiences, you know, what is the key strategy for like overcoming those obstacles and achieving that entrepreneurial success.
AMBER RENAE 4:15
I always think that if you’ve signed up to be an entrepreneur, you’ve actually signed up to the biggest personal development journey that anyone can ever go I know you always say you’re not actually running a business you’re really working on your own shit that you didn’t even know that you signed up to. So whenever you are faced with a challenge or an obstacle, just understand that this was part of the the game you know, you signed up to work on all this. And entrepreneurship will show you every single block every single limiting belief, every single fear and doubt that you have within yourself, it will force you to work on that. So that’s what I always say that this is something that we get to work on. You know, this is a part of our journey that we get to, you know, that we came here to work on. So whenever you’re faced with these things, it’s really a matter of how you’re going to deal with the with the setback and how you’re going to have the obstacle. So are you going to make it a part of your story? Are you going to decide that there’s something wrong with you that you didn’t have the right upbringing? You know, family, whatever it was that uses, you know, all the excuses, or are you going to decide great, this is something for me to overcome, I get to work on this. Thank you for the challenge and move on from there.
CRISTINA ROSE 5:20

And you also offer, you know, that mental mind support, you know, for them as well as they’re going on their journey.
AMBER RENAE 7:06
Yeah, we on my platform, I teach a range of courses that cover my mindset, personal branding, entrepreneurship and online courses. Interestingly enough, they all start with a module that covers their mindset. So getting you to a place that you’re able to do whatever the thing that that causes teachers. When I started my entrepreneurial journey, I realized that I was speaking to so many women, I actually come from a TV presenting fashion editing background. So it felt very natural for me to show up online and communicate my message. And in my first course, I was trying to teach women to do this online, and they were going, I’ve got so many fears around this. And I was like, what really, it wasn’t something that wasn’t a fear that I had, I had many other fears. But that wasn’t a few that I had. So it was interesting for me to realize that I have to teach my mind the mindset with whatever I’m teaching the course about. So that’s usually where we start with all of the courses. And then for me in particular, I’ve been 20 something years as an entrepreneur, my first business was a product business. My second was a service business, which I think a lot of your audience is where you’re trading your time for money. So consulting, glancing. And now this is my third best business, digital business. And all of them started with me with no clue. You know, I never, you know, I didn’t have a trust fund. I never had investments. I never had education in any of the businesses I started, I just had an intuition inkling, an interest in doing the thing that I did start with started from scratch started with nothing and built it up. So for me, I always teach from a place of I’ve actually been there and done that, you know, I’ve done it many, many times, I’m teaching from a place of experience, rather than I studied a course. And I’m going to teach you the course that I just studied. So that sort of a little bit of a point of difference.
CRISTINA ROSE 8:44
Ya know, you walk the walk, not just talk the talk, and it’s true, you have to step out of your comfort zone. And you know, show up online for me as an example, like the podcast was me stepping out of my comfort zone. It’s like, okay, this is what I want to do. I’m a little shy and nervous about it, but I’m going to show up online. So now my next thing is like, okay, maybe I should do like more lives. You know, I’m a little hesitant about that, you know. So it really is like a mental game and pushing yourself through. those barriers and you know, you don’t grow unless you’re like uncomfortable, right.
AMBER RENAE 9:14
And I love that you had an inkling that you wanted to do the podcast, you weren’t sure about it, but you did it anyway. And now look at you, you had this incredibly successful platform that’s in one of the top podcasts in the world. So and you started from a place of fear you didn’t start from a place of this is going to be the world’s best podcast, I’m going to be the best podcast host from a place of fear. And you did it anyway. And that’s such an incredible leadership ability that you’re showcasing for all of our audience.
CRISTINA ROSE 9:41
Oh well thank you. That’s so sweet. You know, and as someone you know, you had navigated also like the media and the fashion industry, like so successfully, like what advice do you have for individuals seeking, you know, to balance their personal and their professional lives? You know, while pursuing like, such ambitious goals, you know, you’re a very ambitious woman. So how can someone have that balance?
AMBER RENAE 10:01
I actually don’t believe in work life balance. I think that life happens in seasons. And we go through seasons where we focus on work in particular, or we go through seasons, where we’re focusing on Personal life In particular, and especially moms, oh my gosh, I’ve actually just come out of a very deep personal season, we’ve had a lot of hardship and death and you know, difficulties within the family unit. So that’s been my focus. And my business has certainly not been my focus, I’ve not been creating content I’ve not been showing up online. And that’s okay. So I could either look at that and choose to beat myself up over it, like, Oh, you haven’t been doing your the work that you’re supposed to do. Or I can look at it and go, Well, that was a season where I was focusing on my personal life. And now that life has settled down a little bit, and I’m going to move into a different season. And I think that we all need to be a little bit lighter on ourselves to have to think that we can juggle all these things at once, like life is so busy, and it’s only getting busier. So I think except that life happens in seasons, you can pick one season up and put it down and move on to something else. And just know that there are businesses that are available to you now that will run in the background, that I believe everyone can have a digital product. Everyone can have an online course or something that takes over in the background, whilst they’re focusing on a different season of their life.
CRISTINA ROSE 11:15
Yeah, no. And what a great way to segue into the Power Mom Chronicles and I cannot wait to know your answers are, Amber.
And my first one to you is what’s a game changing lesson life has taught you.
AMBER RENAE 11:32
I believe everything that’s been put in by place has been here as a gift to teach the skill that I needed in order to get to the place that I am now. So my degree, I studied an engineering degree, I worked for three years as an engineer, most people have said, what a waste of a degree. And it’s only taken until this business, I run a huge digital marketing platform. In this business, I look at spreadsheets and run data and look at analytics all day. And I love doing that because I’m an engineer. And if most people look at that and go, Well, you’ve wasted your degree, no, I use my degree more than ever in his platform. Again, my second business was a fashion styling celebrity styling TV presenting business, which I thought I was going to do forever, because that was my passion. And I love that so much. However, the universe had bigger plans for me. And now I get to teach people I get to make a global impact. And the only reason that I’m so good at this is that I had that background in TV presenting and fashion styling. And when I lost that business, I was devastated. You know, I spent six months in severe depression, suicidal thoughts, thought my life was completely over, I started this business from scratch with nothing. And I’ve turned it into this huge thing that is, is really makes me feel like I’m so enriched and so and lived. And I’m able to use all of the life lessons that have been put in my path up until this point.
CRISTINA ROSE 12:54
You know, looking back on life lessons, you know, reflecting on your journey, what practical lessons or insights, you know, can our listeners apply to, you know, improve their own lives.
AMBER RENAE 13:06
I really think developing resilience and adaptability are essential to entrepreneurship, and even just navigating the busy life that we all live these days. You know, as we’ve just learned, everything that was put in my life has shifted me down a different angle. However, I needed to be adaptable to go down those little pivots and to go down the new angles in order to create something that was really magical, and, and a really beautiful existence. And if I wasn’t resilient, I would still be in my first business, which was working as a fashion designer and running a fashion label, I would hate my life if I was doing that right now. But you know, that was what I always wanted to do. And I thought that that was going to be it for me. So I think when I lost that business, I had, you know, I had a lot to overcome, but I was resilient enough to get up and start again and try something new. And all those pathways have led me on to something that you know, really beautifully enjoy.
CRISTINA ROSE 13:58
love it. And my third question, you know, is offer a piece of wisdom for moms or anyone really striving to find their strength and voice.
AMBER RENAE 14:07
I think finding your strength and voice is something that comes with time and practice. So I don’t you know, I think we’re all waiting to go, Oh, when I have the job, then I’ll have the self esteem or when I have the relationship, then I’ll have the self confidence or, or when I get the you know, the raise, then I’m going to be able to show up online. That’s not how it happens. The way that you develop these things is like a muscle. It’s like going to the gym and practicing over and over again, we all know that you can’t go to the gym once and come home with ABS. We know that.
CRISTINA ROSE 14:39
I wish it works that way.
AMBER RENAE 14:40
I tried. we’ve all tried to do that. And that’s the same with any of these softer skills that you want to develop. If you want to develop your own voice to be seen to be heard. Then develop your voice in situations that have little to no significance. So if you know that you’re in a mom’s group, and your mom’s good It never lets you, you know, have a voice because there are a lot of mums in the group, then you need to go and practice having a voice in situations that have no significance. So what does that mean? Well, the next time that you’re at the coffee shop, maybe you’re going to speak up, maybe you’re gonna turn around and speak to the person behind you, maybe going to spark up a conversation with the guy standing next to you, it’s gonna feel icky and uncomfortable, but that’s you’re using your voice, you’re being seen, you’re being heard. And when you get used to doing that, in situations that do not matter, then you can start applying applying that to situations where it does actually have a little bit of, you know, makes you a little bit funnier.
CRISTINA ROSE 15:32
Yeah
AMBER RENAE 15:33
a bit of heat.
CRISTINA ROSE 15:32
Yeah,
CRISTINA ROSE 15:34
I love it. That’s such a good idea.
AMBER RENAE 15:37
It’s developed is something you develop over time. So when you’re listening to this, and you’re thinking, Oh, I’ve got a little bit of a block around being seen being strong, whatever it is. Pull that back and think about how you can practice that in a situation that doesn’t matter. Maybe it’s just talking to your kids, talking to your husband, standing up for what you want to eat that night at home.
CRISTINA ROSE 15:56
Yeah, yes, setting a boundary. And then my last question to you, Amber is the best advice you’ve ever received.
AMBER RENAE 16:08
I think the best advice I’ve ever received is, I really think we can create our own realities. Oh, I really think if you are being called to do something, then that thing is calling for you because it’s possible for you. And I learned this in a huge way recently. My father has recently passed away and he ended up passing and achieving a life called upon passing, that he would never have achieved in Israel life. And I won’t go to get into the details. But it was just an on reasonable goal for that, man. And he always said that he was crazy, but always said he was gonna achieve it. And upon passing, we realized he’d actually achieved it. And it was only in that moment that I realized, like, if something if you think something is available to you, that it is going to happen to you. It’s only a matter that matter of whether you’re going to keep striving for it, achieving it, you know, moving in the direction of it that you’re going to get there. So if you’re listening to this, and you’re going, You know what, I think that I have something to teach online or I think that I can share my knowledge or I think that I can become a personal brand. If you’re listening to this, and you’re thinking that then it’s cooling you as well.
CRISTINA ROSE 17:12
Yeah I one thing I learned, especially with everyone I’ve talked to on the podcast, if you have a fear and a desire for it, then go for it most likely it’s meant for you. And if you like that’s your cue. Are you scared of it? And do you have like a passion and a little bit of fire and wanting to do it then then you should go for it.
AMBER RENAE 17:34
Agrees.
CRISTINA ROSE 17:35
