Hi Friends! This year, the holidays will have a little extra sparkle in them since each one will be Cole’s first. The Easter Holiday is no exception and this is my baby’s first Easter basket. I’m fully embracing my new role as the Easter Bunny, well my husband and me, but I take full responsibility for this one.
I remember when I was a kid and every Easter we would wake up to a trail of jelly beans that would start at the foot of our beds and we would follow the jelly bean trail all the way out to the living room where our glorious Easter baskets were waiting for us to pick through. I remember being so excited every year to see that jelly bean trail. We would rush to open of Easter gifts and then start our scavenger hunt for eggs. I remember thinking I was so good at finding those Easter eggs the bunny left us. I can’t wait to make those magical moments with Cole.
It didn’t take much effort to put everything together, but since this was also my first time ever making an Easter basket, it was a bit challenging at first to figure out what gifts to include. Cole is only seven months old and I was feeling limited on gift ideas. I also wanted to purchase items that were actually functional to us as a family. Gratefully, I was able to put my thinking cap on and came up with some great gift ideas and put together an awesome Easter basket.
This basket was simple and fun to create. All gift items were purchased through Amazon which made it easy to shop and who doesn’t like fast deliveries to their doorstep? I wanted to select items I felt he could use now or sometime in the near future. What’s great, is that you can select any kind of basket you’d like with these items to personalize it to your own style. I selected my personalized basket liner from Etsy. I figured since this is his first basket I wanted to make it extra special.
This teal basket is from Michaels. They have a ton of basket selections. I purchased this one at an actual store location so availability may be limited.
These wooden jigsaw puzzles are fun and they came in a nice bag to hold the four puzzles together making it clean and easy to stuff inside the Easter basket.
We always read books and we especially love reading them right before bedtime. I felt that these classic Easter stories would be a great addition to our already growing book collection.
Happy Easter, Mouse! written by Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond has great illustrations and is an easy fun read. I remember my Mother reading me this book from my childhood Easter days.
God Gave Us Easter written by Lisa Tawn Bergren and the art drawn by Laura J. Bryant tells a special story about God and how he loved us so much that he wanted us to always be with him too. This book is fun and helps explain why we celebrate the Easter holiday.
Cole’s very first time seeing the Easter Bunny. He was very curious.
